Spring Skincare Loves | Review

Wednesday, April 29, 2020

Today I wanted to share some of the skincare products I have been using (and loving) these last couple of months and share my thoughts with you. These are great quality products that will make your skin look fantastic this spring.

On another note, spring has arrived and the snow (finally) melted, but it has been replaced with rain but you know how it goes "April's showers bring May flowers"! Can't wait for all the flowers and trees bloom that it stops raining. Is it raining where you are?

I know that it has been a while since the last post but with the quarantine shutdown starting at the end of the university semester, life was turned upside down since most professors were not sure how to proceed and deadlines were moved. The winter semester is now over (yesterday I sent in my last final) and now I can finally go back to normal life. Well, as normal as one can be in quarantine.

It also has been even longer since the last product review, but I'm back with some of the skincare products I have been loving and would recommend.

Skincare Loves for Spring 2020

*At one time or another, I received all these products for free in exchange for an honest review or for complimentary reasons. This does not alter my opinions or thoughts in any way, I will always be honest about products that I have tried and whether I recommend them or not.
*In this post, there are also affiliated links which help support this blog at no additional cost to you*

Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Face Serum (Cerave)

If you've followed me on Instagram, you probably noticed that I posted a review of this product there, but if you haven't then let me tell you about this fantastic product.

First, you might be wondering what is Hyaluronic Acid? It is a sugar found naturally in the skin that keeps it looking hydrated, healthy, and supple something I noticed my skin is lacking.  This serum from Cerave is super easy to apply and one pump goes a long way. It is lightweight and leaves my skin feeling soft, refreshed, and hydrated. The Hyaluronic Acid serum also helps restore the protective skin barrier and makes it look less wrinkly. It's also fragrance-free and does not clog my pores, which is fantastic.

This serum does make my life much easier and I absolutely love it, I usually alternate it with moisturizer as both help my skin feel less dry and sad.  You can find it at Ulta* (US), Ulta* (Canada).

Rose Quartz + Charcoal Daily Purifying Cleanser (Biore)

I've recently started to use this cleanser from Biore and love, love, love it. It is super easy to apply and it leaves my skin feeling clean, refreshed, and softer. The purpose of the rose quartz and charcoal helps by removing all impurities and purifying the skin. One thing I love about it is that it's shiny and sparkly, it is detrimental to how the product works but it makes the application feel fancy and extravagant.

This cleanser does not disappoint, it's really pretty and it is very budget-friendly* which I love.

Rose Quartz + Charcoal Gentle Pore Refining Scrub (Biore)

This skin scrub is from the same collection of the prior cleanser, likewise, it is shiny, sparkly, and works extremely well in trying to make my skin feel and look better. I use the cleanser twice a week and immediately notice a difference. Like the cleanser, the scrub leaves my skin feeling extremely soft and less dull.

This product *is perfect for those with a budget (like moi) and it works fantastically, and I definitely recommend it.

Invigorating Skin Toner Mist (Yonka)

Last year I won a giveaway and had the opportunity to try this toner mist, which has become a must-have! Before I received this product I had never heard of Yonka before or that it was a salon used brand. This French brand is a bit on the costly side but it is amazing. One to two sprays leaves my skin fully covered and feeling refreshed.

It is like walking in a garden that is in full bloom as it contains five essential oils. This toner I only use in the mornings under my moisturizer and it works wonderfully as it does not dry out my skin and the scent is amazing! It is like walking in a garden that is in full bloom as it contains five essential oils.

If it is within your budget I definitely recommend this product. Unfortunately, this beautiful and colorful limited edition is no longer available but their normal packaging *is simple and looks so fancy!

Cream Skin Toner (Laneige)

You might remember that last fall I did a review of this Korean-made product and how as an oily faced gal I did not fully love it but in the last couple of months, I have come to use it almost daily. One of the issues I had with the toner was that it left my skin feeling oily/greasy and shiny (which I hate) but it did leave my skin feeling soft.

Most of the time after I cleanse my face at night time my skin is left feeling dry, tight, and uncomfortable. One night I decided to use it so it would not go to waste and found that the Laneige Toner moisturized my face and since I was going to sleep I had no issues with being seen with the oiliness or shininess. While in my morning routine I use a non-greasy moisturizer or the Cerave Serum from above.

It may not be for my skin type but for now, it is part of my nighttime routine. If you have normal or dry skin then this Cream Skin Toner* will much more for you than it did for me.

Those are some of the skincare products that I have been using and love. FYI I'm not much of a skincare expert or enthusiasts but I do love using products that make me feel good in my skin and want you to feel comfortable in yours.

Are there any skincare products you absolutely love and recommend? Have you tried any of the above-mentioned products?

Now that the school semester is over and the pandemic panic has lessened I will be writing more.

Til next month!

    1. I'm so glad that I could help, Dawn. My suggestion would be starting with a good cleanser as it cleans, refreshes and prepares the skin for the rest of the routine.
